Unlikely

Here’s my unlikely.

Several years ago, I was a footloose and fancy free flight attendant. Then one day I woke up and said, “I think I’ll go to law school.”

I got a lot of eye rolls, a lot of sneered questions asking why, and a lot of condescending B.S.

Despite all of that, I made it through.

    1. In a way… archivist in library world has a narrower meaning than what I do. I’m a law librarian, which I think is better defined as a research attorney.

Interestingly, nobody said squat when I got my MLS. *strokes chin thoughtfully* Wonder why that was.

      1. Hmmm…. Take heart in knowing that the times seem to be a-changin’! Well, belated congratulations on both, anyway. Does your research focus on a particular area of interest, or is it broad? Sounds like an interesting job to me.

      2. Very, very broad. In one hour period I can help someone find a legal form, look for a 19th century city ordinance, find an academic article, and pull some court opinions from various jurisdictions.

        Mental breaks are often necessary.
